About the Role

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pain Management Physician to join our outpatient hospital-based pain management department. The physician will work in collaboration with advanced practice providers, nurses, and clinical staff to provide comprehensive pain management services in both the clinic and procedure suite.

Practice
-Team structure: One physician with midlevel provider support when clinic volumes dictate
- Clinic support staff: Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Medical Assistants (MAs)
- Procedural support: Procedures performed in a dedicated procedure suite with a scrub tech, radiology technologist, and circulator present

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with acute and chronic pain conditions.
- Implement personalized pain management plans that may include pharmacologic, interventional, and non-interventional therapies.
- Apply cutting-edge techniques and stay at the forefront of pain management advancements. Utilize state-of-the-art technology to provide effective and compassionate care.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, physical therapists, and psychologists, to create integrated treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Empower patients by providing clear explanations about their pain management options, treatment goals, and strategies for improving their overall quality of life.
- Contribute to the growth of the pain management program by participating in research, developing clinical protocols, and mentoring fellow professionals and residents.
- Represent the facility in community outreach and education efforts. Promote awareness of pain management strategies and build strong relationships within the local community.

Compensation: $450K DOE plus bonus and benefits

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.

  • Pain Management residency plus fellowship.

  • Demonstrated expertise in pain management with a strong track record of successful patient outcomes. Experience with both interventional and non-interventional pain management techniques is highly valued.

  • Excellent diagnostic, procedural, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and adapt to emerging advancements in pain management.

  • Valid medical license and/or eligibility to practice in Maine.
